The I.C.E Guy helps families and individuals get prepared to respond and manage emergency situations.

The I.C.E. Guy can be seen and heard on Fox News and HomelandDefenseTV.com

Life provides each of us with many surprises. I have over thirty years of experience as a Red Cross Certified Life Guard and Instructor, Safety Officer, Navy Damage Control Officer, Senior Computer Security Analyst, and Certified Anti-terrorist Specialist (CAS); I developed a series of I.C.E. solutions and seminars to help families and individuals become prepared to respond to crisis situations.

As a U.S. Naval Officer and professional speaker, I have not always been home when my family experienced new and challenging situations like leaking pipes, fallen trees, car accidents, illesses, deaths, house hold moves, and many other surprises. So early on in my career, I accessed potential situations and responses with my family on what to do just in case of an emergency. We also maintained a 3-ring binder, called the “Book”, which held reference documents related to our insurance policies, key property documents, finances, passports, credit cards, etc. These reviews and the Book prepared my family to successfully respond to many crisis situations around the world.

In 2000, my eighty-year old father was dying of lung cancer in Ohio. Two days before he died, I sat with my mother and we put a Book together for her. The day he died, I spent the night wondering if I need to move her near my home in Maryland to ensure she was OK. The day after, we went to her attorney, bank, insurance agent, and government groups to settle the estate. When they asked questions, I watched Mom refer to her “Book” and respond correctly and confidently. I was very pleased and relieved to see that she was in charge and going to do just fine in Ohio. From that experience, I wrote the KNOW Your Life – By Organizing It!, so others could be inspired to create their own "Book”.

After publishing KNOW Your Life, I was asked by groups to give presentations on getting prepared for emergencies. That lead to seminars and several additional reference guides to help get people prepared. These simple and practical tools provide personally tailored references that allow individuals to quickly see their options so they can make decisions on how to effectively respond to new and predictable emergency situations.

I thank you for visiting this site and I hope that others will benefit from this tools and processes as much as my family has.
